TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
"Honey, you are not going to believe the deal I have just been offered! A really nice person on the internet offered to buy that car we have listed for sale. Not only does he want to purchase our junky car, he wants to send us an extra $2,000.00. All we have to do is cash the check and wire him $1,000.00 back. Isn't that great?
STOP - PUT ON THE BRAKES!
This is a scam and it is happening everyday to people just like you. By the time you cash the check and it gets sent to the drawee bank to be returned NOT PAID - COUNTERFEIT OR FRAUDULENT, the crooks have the $1,000.00 and you are out the money!
The Internet can be a good thing, but it can also be very bad if you do not use caution.
Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is!
